Thursdays in August 2023!

3:00 pm - 5:00pm

Each session, hosted by Trillium Arts, begins with a one hour long movement class taught by acclaimed instructor, Megan Bascom that is open level and geared to a broad range of participants. Artists from disciplines other than dance are welcome and encouraged to attend. Megan will guide participants through 60 minutes of inspired movement that requires little to no formal dance training! This is movement that feels good. No fancy outfits required. Just bring your creative self and a water bottle.

THEMES:

Each week will explore a particular theme, and that theme will then carry over into the “Mingle” discussion portion of the afternoon. The “Theme” for each week will be driven by suggestions from the group. When you Register below, you will have the option to complete a short form and suggest/share a topic or theme, poem, or a piece of artwork. Then Megan and Heather will build from the suggestions for inspirations for each class.

In addition to the financial challenges most artists face, those of us working in western NC often encounter isolation and feelings of disconnect. Come share and help build a Western NC Artist Network, together.

After a good healthy sweat, share in an hour of comradery, friendship and community with other like minded creatives. (Plus, there will be free, healthy snacks!) Each week’s movement theme (such as, “Human & Digital Interaction,” or “Watching your art shift & change over time and still being present inside of it,”) will segue over into a moderated conversation, led by Trillium Arts co-founder, Heather Hartley, who led similar conversations with the arts community in Chicago, IL for eight years.. We will laugh. We will sip. We might even cry once or twice. MINGLE.

Trillium Arts will provide snack trays and non-alcoholic beverages. Participants are welcome to bring an adult beverage of their own choice, if desired.

COST:

Suggested $15 per workshop or pay what you can. 20% discount if you register in advance for the entire series!
